Applying Stampee Foil

Q: How do I apply foil to a rubber stamped image using a household iron?

A: First, stamp your image on paper using embossable ink. Apply Stampee's Stuck on You! bonding powder. Remove excess powder & set with heat gun. You'll know the powder has set when it glistens and becomes clear.

Next, cover your stamped image with a piece of foil, shiny side up. Turn foil and paper over. Iron the back of the paper on medium heat for 20 seconds, then turn the iron the opposite direction and iron for another 20 seconds. Turn the paper over and peel off foil. Voila!

Q: How do I apply foil to a rubber stamped image using a heat laminator?

A: Like the method above, stamp your image on paper using embossable ink. Apply Stampee's Stuck on You! bonding powder. Remove excess powder & set with heat gun. You'll know the powder has set when it glistens and becomes clear.

Then, cover your image with a piece of foil, shiny side up. Cover paper and foil with a piece of copy paper. Feed through heat laminator. Remove cover sheet and peel off foil. Voila!

Q: How do I apply foil to an image printed on my laser printer or copier?

A: Simply print your image with a laserjet printer or copy it on a copy machine. Then cover it with foil, shiny side up (no bonding powder is necessary when using this method). Cover image and foil with a piece of copy paper. Feed through heat laminator. Remove cover sheet and peel off foil. Voila! *This process can not be done with Amethyst, Copper, or 24K Gold foils.

There's also a great little video tutorial demonstrating this method right here!

Q: How do I use a heat tool to create a distressed effect?

A: Just stamp your image on paper using embossable ink. Apply Stampee's Stuck on You! bonding powder. Remove excess powder & set with heat gun. You'll know the powder has set when it glistens and becomes clear. While powder is hot, cover with foil, shiny side up. Firmly rub over the foil using a burnishing tool. Allow sheet to cool and peel off foil. Voila!

Q: How do I apply Stampee Foil to a double-sided sticker, double-sided tape or drawing made with a glue pen?
